Top Places to Go This Summer in the Philippines – 2026
(A real, human travel guide — not just another copy-paste list)
Before you even consider… I bet you’re already looking forward to the next summer vacation, wondering while you scroll through your phone:
“So where in the world should I go for summer which would be worth my money?”
Not to any place that is clichéd or over-hyped, or looks awesome on the ‘gram but turns out to be pretty lame once you get there. This is what this travel guide is all about. No pretentiousness here. Just places in the Philippines that actually remain amazing by 2026, according to real-life experiences, not just what looks good on Instagram!
There are many islands in the Philippines. Therefore, the “perfect place” largely depends on what you want and need:
Tired? → visit a secluded area
Burnout? → visit a leisurely location
Stressed? → visit a nature spot
Disoriented? → visit an unknown location
There is no universal summer destination in the Philippines. But isn’t it great?
1. El Nido (Palawan) – Still got it
No lies, El Nido has deserved its popularity. It hasn’t lost it. Of course, there are tourists there. Of course, it can be found everywhere on Instagram. Yet when you’re in a small boat surrounded by karstic rocks, floating between the rocks with crystal-clear water… Well, all those thoughts go away. It still feels like nature shows off all its best things.
How it feels: pauses during the transfers between islands when everything stops and you realize that you’ve come somewhere unique.
Why it’s perfect for: rookies, couples, people looking for “one day in your life” spots
Real talk: don’t hesitate, book in advance, and don’t be surprised about the crowd.
2. Boracay – Tidy, managed, but fun
Boracay used to have a different vibe back in the day—more chaotic, a bit messy, and not as organized as it is now. But things have really changed. White Beach remains. (White Beach – soft sand, calm water, mind-blowing sunsets.) But things have changed – the atmosphere here seems more managed, clean and safe.
How it is: Convenient. Wake up, take a couple of steps and you are on the beach.
Ideal for: leisure travel, group vacations, those who want a “relaxation” trip
The truth is: Not particularly quiet, but incredibly convenient.
3. Siargao – Easygoing, but unique
It doesn’t try to wow you, just does its thing. Some come to surf, some prefer hanging out in coffee places. And that is precisely why it is interesting.
How it is: Wake up late, drive a motorcycle with no specific destination, finish the day at a place you haven’t planned.
Good for: solo trips, creative types, those who need to recharge
The truth is: Weather changes quickly. Your plans will change even faster.
4. Coron — Unbelievable water, real work
Coron feels like Mother Nature got carried away. The lakes are crystal-clear. The cliffs are jagged. What about the view underwater? Now that’s breathtaking. However, Coron is less glamorous than El Nido—this place demands work!
What to expect from it: A sense of adventure coupled with “how did this happen?”
Ideal for: Divers, swimmers, adventures
Reality check: Not an easy destination by any means.
5. Camiguin — Tiny but memorable
Camiguin is tiny. Actually, very tiny. That’s precisely what makes it amazing. No noisy traffic. No crowds. Just waterfalls, hot springs, and laid-back island vibes.
What it feels like: Relaxation you never knew you craved.
Ideal for: Couples, peaceful vacationers.
6. Baguio — Summer but cold
This place is where you go to beat the Philippine summer heat without getting on a plane. Colder, calmer, with food stalls and leisurely strolls.
How it feels: Wearing jackets during a hot and humid season.
Best for: food adventures, family getaways, cool weekends.
7. La Union — Instant getaway spot
La Union isn’t glamorous at all. But that’s precisely the reason tourists visit. Spend time surfing in the morning, enjoying food in the afternoon, and watching the sun set by evening.
How it feels: A quick escape that requires no unnecessary frills.
Best for: barkada getaways, surfing novices.
8. Banaue — Subtly powerful
Not your typical beach. Not even close. These terraces are ancient, huge, and they’re thriving. There’s no “visiting”; there’s observing and pausing for reflection.
“It feels like Solid. Like you can feel the weight of history.”
9. Batanes — Where it all ends
Batanes makes you feel as though you’ve stumbled into an alternate version of the Philippines. Less crowded, less busy, more peaceful. Silent, calm and vast stretches of open space “Like the world took a breath”.
My Last thought (real talk)
There’s something that most travel blogs forget to mention: You don’t always have to go to the “best spot.” Sometimes you simply need the right spot that suits your current state of mind.
Since El Nido won’t solve your burnout issues. Boracay won’t solve your stress problems. And Siargao won’t solve your confusion. But maybe, just maybe, they can offer you some breathing room—and that may be all you ever need.
Let’s get honest
If you had to choose just one destination in the Philippines this summer, where would it be—and what do you really need right now? Rest, escape, healing, or just plain fun? Let me know.
